QINGDAO, China — Sailun Jinyu Group Co. Ltd. is planning to increase its investment in a truck and OTR tire plant under construction in Vietnam by more than $140 million, according to a company filing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The Sailun Jinyu Group’s wholly-owned Vietnamese subsidiary, Sailun (Vietnam) Co., Ltd, is investing up to $200 million in all-steel belted tire and OTR production.

The China-based company will invest about $460 million to add annual output of 3 million passenger tires and 1 million TBR tires and 50,000 tons off-the-road tires, according to media reports. The plant will export the tires to the US and Europe

The tire manufacturer will build a new plant in Ho Chi Minh City with an annual production capacity of 3 million semi-steel radial tires, 1 million all-steel radial tires, as well as 50,000 off-the-road tires, the Qingdao-based firm said in a statement published over the weekend.

The new Maxam Tire App from Maxam Tire North America Inc. serves as "an easily accessible hub of information for users on the go," according to Maxam officials.
